"So film music is something I absolutely wanna get involved in. Celebrity was a long time in coming; it will go away. Everything goes away. Age is something that doesn't matter, unless you are a cheese. If we're for one another, we're feminists. The rest is semantics." |

Her discography includes Meine Welt (2003), Farben Meiner Welt (2004) and Unterwegs (2005), and she appeared on the German soap Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten from 2001 to 2005.
Catterfeld was born in Erfurt, Thuringia in 1979. At the age of 15 she started playing the piano and the flute, simultaneously taking first dance and vocal lessons. After the high school graduation she studied Pop and Jazz at the music academy in Leipzig for two years. In 1998 she eventually released her first recordings under her synonyme KIV, but the seven songs only found little to none professional response.
After her studies Yvonne participated in the singing contest Stimme 2000 (briefly performing under the name Vivianne), where she met manager and later BMG boss Thomas Stein, who offered her a contract with the sub-label Hansa Music. In 2001 she released her first official single, "Bum", a cover of the same-titled All Saints track, but once again the record did not enter the charts. At least the following three single "Komm Zurück Zu Mir", "Niemand Sonst" and "Gefühle" helped to expand Catterfeld's popularity. Yvonne finally broke out after performing in a German singing contest called Stimme 2000, and she landed a contract with Hansa Music. She released a number of singles, which gradually built up her popularity.
Yvonne’s acting career also took off around the same time. In 2002, she joined the cast of the popular German soap opera Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten, which gave her singing career a major boost. Yvonne’s fourth single, 2003’s “Für Dich,” hit No. 1 in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and her debut album, Meine Welt, went platinum. The follow-up, Farben Meiner Welt (2004), also did extremely well.
In 2002 she became part of popular German soap opera Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten, where she portrayed the role of Julia Blum until 2005. Pushed by her TV presence Yvonne finally found big success with her fourth single produced by Dieter Bohlen "Für Dich", which went to #1 of the German, Austrian and Swiss singles charts. Her first album Meine Welt saw similar success and was eventually certified Platinum. One year later she was able to reprise this success with "Du Hast Mein Herz Gebrochen" and her second album Farben Meiner Welt.
In fall 2005 Catterfeld became the leading actress in the historical telenovela Sophie - Braut Wider Willen. However, the show never answered the network's expectations and as a result it ended in March after 65 episodes only. At the same time Yvonne released her first single in English language, "Where Does The Love Go", a collaboration with singer Eric Benét.
Successful singer in Germany. Her single, "Für Dich", written and produced by Dieter Bohlen, was number 1 in single charts for 6 weeks (2003). She is famous for her role of "Julia Blum" in the German soap opera "Gute Zeiten, schlechte Zeiten" (1992) that she portrayed from 2002 until 2005. Started her singing career at the age of 15. Longtime companion of actor Wayne Carpendale.
Won an ECHO Award for "Best Female Artist National Rock/Pop" in 2004. Studied pop and jazz at the Music Academy in Leipzig for two years. Her first single in English was a duet with Eric Benet called "Where Does The Love Go" (2005). Separated from Wayne Carpendale (August 2007). Longtime companion is actor Oliver Wnuk (2007). Resembling Romy Schneider, the producers of a biopic about the late actress' life announced that she would play her (February 2008).
In 2006, Catterfeld released her fourth studio album, Aura. She dated German actor Wayne Carpendale since January 2005; they separated in August 2007.
