"I think it gets more press for me in the long run. Introducing a new actress is pretty commonly seen in the press, but you don't often see such mystery behind who the character really is. I think it will only help my career, all this mystery." |

Rachel Roberts (born April 8, 1978 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada) is a Canadian model and actress. She has appeared in numerous ad campaigns, most notably for Biotherm. when Rachel was still only 19, magazines were courting her to do covers. She began to shoot for big names, doing Elle, Vogue, Glamour and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue of 2000.
Signing on to be skin-care line Biotherm's official model, she gained even more notoriety by posing for labels such as Ralph Lauren, Dana Buchman, Victoria's Secret, and Banana Republic. A stunning model whose smoldering layouts in such high-fashion magazines as Elle, Glamour, and Vogue found her gracing catwalks across Europe, Rachel Roberts' seeming lack of physical imperfection caught the attention of producers preparing a film about the first virtual-actress and placed her as the ideal candidate for the role of the ultimate special effect in Simone (2002).
Born in British Columbia, Canada, Roberts began her career at age 16. Going international shortly thereafter, the ethereal beauty was courted by numerous fashion magazines and eventually appeared in ads for Victoria's Secret and Banana Republic in addition to gracing the pages of the 2000 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Though her film debut remained shrouded in mystery due to a gag order issued by New Line Cinema, in addition to Roberts' working under the pseudonym Anna Green (short for Anamorphic Green-Screen, a special effects device which offers the ability to implement digital effects in film) during production, the film's debut found the true identity of the model-turned-actress ultimately revealed. Nevertheless, producers noted that certain aspects of the character, such as vocal patterns, were an amalgam of traits from other Hollywood actresses.
She began to work for magazines such as Elle, Vogue, Glamour and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue of 2000. Signing on to be skin-care line Biotherm's official model, she gained even more popularity by posing for labels such as Ralph Lauren, Dana Buchman, Victoria's Secret, and Banana Republic. Rachel moved to New York City, where she now lives with her husband. It was a strategic move, giving her an opportunity to appear in more shows and put her face in more magazines. A whirlwind of activity, Rachel Roberts landed her upcoming role in Simone just as her name was becoming common in the fashion world. In accordance with director Andrew Niccol's (Gattica, The Truman Show) demands, just who was playing the title character was kept a secret from the beginning of shooting in late 2000 up until May 2002.
She was the title character of Andrew Niccol's movie S1m0ne (2002). She is 5'9" and is 120 lbs. Roberts and Niccol began a relationship after meeting on the movie, and have one son, Jack, born in 2003. The couple welcomed their second child, daughter Ava Lila Rae, on January 30th, 2008.
