"I would love to play Wonder Woman; I have the abilities and the strength because I am definitely not the typical Hollywood actress. I'm Amazonian in that I am 5' 8", have curves, muscles and am very strong. I don't look like I'm going to break in half like most of these women in the industry are."

Biography Nadia Bjorlin Biography

Nadia Alexandra Björlin (credited as Bjorlin) (born August 2, 1980) is an American actress.

Bjorlin was born in Newport, Rhode Island, but lived in Sweden until the age of 7. She is the fifth child out of six of Ulf and Fary Bjorlin. When Nadia was two months old, the Bjorlin family moved to Sweden, her father's native country. Nadia's father was a conductor and composer of classical music, which Nadia grew to love. After traveling abroad for a few years, Ulf took a job conducting the Florida Philharmonic and Palm Beach Symphony. In this time, Nadia had fallen in love with music and had began performing professionally when she was only six years old. She and two of her brothers, Jean-Paul and Ulf Jr., began performing as the Bjorlin Trio at her father's concerts. Her father also featured Nadia in his musical adaptations of classic stories, such as Hans Christian Anderson's "The Snow Queen", and "The Portrait of Raoul Wallenberg." Ulf Bjorlin Sr. passed away when Nadia was twelve.

Her father was the Swedish composer and conductor Ulf Björlin (1933-1993). Her mother, Fary, whose background is Persian, is an interior decorator. Nadia speaks Swedish, Persian (Farsi), English and can sing in other languages as well. She is also renowned for her soprano voice. When her family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, she attended the Palm Beach County School of the Arts (now Dreyfoos School of the arts) along with her brothers Ulf and Jean Paul, where she excelled in music and theater. All three siblings have found success in show business since graduation. Bjorlin once competed in pageants. In 1998, she placed as Second Runner-Up in Miss Florida Teen USA.

When she was a junior in high school, the Bjorlins moved to New York City where Nadia then attended the Professional Children's School. There she studied alongside other famous actors and actresses, such as Julia Stiles, Gaby Hoffman, and the Culkin kids. In May of 1999, Nadia won first place in the Metro Lyric Opera Competition, which took place in New York City. When she graduated from high school, she decided to shift her focus to acting.

Nadia Bjorlin's major exposure has been on the soap opera Days of Our Lives, where she first appeared as the character Chloe Lane in December 1999. At first, Chloe was portrayed as a nerdy and geeky kind of girl with big glasses. Eventually, her character developed into a quiet beauty who could also sing and she fell in love with rich, popular Philip Kiriakis, portrayed by actor Jay Kenneth Johnson. Soon, their romance turned rocky, and she developed a crush on Brady Black, portrayed by actor Kyle Lowder.

Nadia had just secured an agent when the NBC soap opera, Days of our Lives sent out a nationwide casting call for the role of mysterious young opera singer 'Chloe.' Nadia flew out to Los Angeles for the screen-test and two days later, she won the part. She celebrated by packing up everything in New York City to move to California with her mother and her brother. Tom Langan, Days Executive Producer was taken with Nadia, who he described as "a serene, fascinating beauty who floats through a room."

Nadia appeared on Days of our Lives in the contracted-role of 'Chloe Lane' beginning in November 1999, and her character was placed in the middle of the most heated and contested love triangles on the show (Broe vs. Phloe) at the time. Fans from both sides campaigned for their respective couple passionately, sending anything from stress balls to lip gloss to hay to producers, writers, and actors on Days. Nadia left the contract role in 2003, but recurred until 2005 when Broe got married and rode off in the sunset together. Rumors have popped up from time to time that Nadia would eventually return to her role, and in November of 2007, she did! Nadia is currently on contract with Days through 2009.

In addition to working on Days of our Lives, Nadia has also appeared in such primetime shows as Jake in Progress starring John Stamos, Complete Savages produced by Mel Gibson, Sex, Love & Secrets starring James Stevenson, Denise Richards and Eric Balfour, and Out of Practice starring Stockard Channing. She also starred in a Marriage Undone, a film short that was featured in the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival and the Pacific Palisades Film Festival in 2002-2003.

Bjorlin originally left Days in June 2003 to concentrate on her singing career. Her character moved to be an opera star. Bjorlin returned on a recurring basis in November 2004 after her character supposedly had a disfiguring car accident and eventually married Brady Black. In September 2005, Bjorlin left Days of Our Lives again and joined the cast of the UPN series Sex, Love & Secrets. The show was canceled by the network, but Bjorlin continued to make guest appearances on television series such as Jake in Progress and Out of Practice. During the summer of 2005, Bjorlin made guest appearances on the Fishbowl radio program 'Coming Out with Reichen,' hosted by Reichen Lehmkuhl. The Fishbowl Radio Network is an Internet radio station for reality television alumni.

Since leaving Days, Bjorlin has appeared in the independent feature film, If I Had Known I Was a Genius, starring Markus Redmond, Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Stone, and Tara Reid. The film was screened at the 2007 Sundance Film Festival.

In January 2006, Nadia shot scenes for the feature independent film, If I Had Known I was a Genius, which starred Whoopi Goldberg, Sharon Stone, and Tara Reid. The film was screened at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2007 to positive reviews. Nadia also starred as the female lead of the feature film, Redline. The film also featured Eddie Griffin and Nathan Phillips. Nadia portrayed Natasha Martin, a gorgeous young automobile fanatic and front to the hottest unsigned band on the West coast. The character finds herself caught up in illegal drag-racing competitions organized for the pleasure of a bunch of bored billionaires. The movie was released in theaters in April 2007, and was then released on DVD in August of the same year. Nadia also shot scenes for the independent film, Jack Rio in 2007. The film is scheduled to be released in the summer of 2008.

Nadia has been featured on many covers of fashion, celebrity, men's, and online magazines, and takes a special interest in all kinds of music and dance. "I especially love Latin music and Latin dance, such as the salsa and merengue," the young actress states. Because of her love of music and dance, she appeared in the Ricky Martin music video, "Shake Your Bon-Bon" as a go-go dancer. Nadia has also played the piano, flute, guitar, and harp.

Bjorlin was also cast as the female lead of the Chicago Pictures' feature film, Redline. The film starred Eddie Griffin and Nathan Phillips, and was released in theaters on April 13, 2007. Bjorlin portrays Natasha Martin, a young automobile fanatic and lead singer of a still unsigned West Coast band. The character finds herself caught up in illegal street-racing competitions organized for the pleasure of a bunch of bored multi-millionaires. The movie was released on DVD on August 21, 2007. Bjorlin returned to Days of our Lives as Chloe on November 29, 2007.

In family life, Nadia maintains a close relationship with her mother, Fary, who has always encouraged her to try something new and live life to the fullest. "She is definitely my best friend. She's always been there for me; she's my rock. She's not at all like a stage mom. It's fun to have that support and to have her at home and be babied once in awhile." She also described her mother, who is an interior decorator and designer as "the most visually artistic person I know." Patrika Darbo (ex-Nancy, Days) has seen firsthand the closeness of the Bjorlin family. Darbo attended a family get-together, and was amazed by the talent in the house. "They are absolutely incredible people who have graciously taken us into their family. There's a lot of love there." Adds Kevin Spirtas, who played Craig on Days: "Nadia knows where she's at and where she's headed. She has great inner strength...I think she has a big future if she chooses to keep doing it. She has quite a gift."

Nadia was previously engaged to Daniel Sadek and was in a relationship with actor, James Stevenson. Bjorlin is currently in a relationship with her Days co-star Brandon Beemer.
