"Blondes definitely do not have more fun. Trust me. I grew up in the Ukraine 'til I was about 7, and then I moved to L.A. I love swimming, tennis, and I am taking up golf. I am not serious about it, I just go to the range and practice. Other than that, I enjoy going to the movies and hanging out with my friends. It's not the most normal life in the world, but I screw up plenty of times to be a normal teenager." |

Milena Markovna Kunis (born August 14, 1983) is an American actress. She is known for playing Jackie Burkhart on That '70s Show and providing the voice of Meg Griffin on the popular animated series Family Guy. A petite, raven-haired beauty best known as the self-involved and outspoken Jackie Burkhart on “That '70s Show” (1998-2006), Mila Kunis established a prosperous career in acting before even graduating from high school. A native of Ukraine, Kunis also provided the voice for the character of Meg Griffin on the popular animated series “Family Guy” (1999- ) and has appeared in the films “Get Over It” (2001) and “American Psycho II: All American Girl” (2002).
Kunis was born in Kyiv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union (now Ukraine), the daughter of Elvira, physics teacher, and Mark Kunis, mechanical engineer. Her family is Jewish and moved to Los Angeles, California in 1991. She says that her English improved from watching The Price Is Right; host Bob Barker spoke slowly enough for her to understand.
In Los Angeles, she attended Hubert Howe Bancroft Middle School, Kunis took acting classes lessons after-school and was cast in minor roles in children's programs, television commercials, appearing in a 1994 episode of Days of Our Lives as a young Hope Williams. Making her small-screen debut in 1994 in an episode of “Days of Our Lives” (1965- ), Kunis soon landed small roles on a number of television shows including “The John Larroquette Show” (1993-96), “Baywatch” (1989-2001), and “Walker Texas Ranger” (1993-2001). She went on to appear in recurring roles on “Nick Freno, Licenced Teacher” (1996-98) and the WB’s “7th Heaven” (1996-2006). With her dark hair and exotic looks, Kunis portrayed a young Angelina Jolie in the critically acclaimed 1998 HBO bio-pic “Gia” about the life of supermodel Gia Carangi.
Kunis became well known after being cast in the television series That '70s Show in 1998. During the auditions, all people auditioning for the roles in the show were required to be at least 18 years of age, so Kunis told the casting staff at the audition that she was going to be 18 "on her birthday" not specifying to which birthday she was referring. After receiving the part, she was kept on the role despite having misled the directors as she had been considered the best fit for the character and was thought to have been creative in her way of gaining the audition despite her age.
She was 14 at the time of the audition and had turned 15 by the time the show began filming; when the executive producer said, "you said you were going to be 18", she responded with "I will be 18...". Kunis has stated many times that she is nothing like Jackie, her character on the show. Instead, she says that she is more of the cute girl-next-door type with a dash of tomboy. Before the program, Kunis had appeared in the 1997 film Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves as a minor character (the daughter's friend) and in the Angelina Jolie film Gia, as Gia's younger self. She also had a minor role on Seventh Heaven as Lucy's nemesis.
After receiving her high school diploma in 2001, Kunis soon branched out from her work on “70’s” by appearing in a number of films. She landed a supporting role in the teen flick “Get Over It” (2001) with Kirsten Dunst, starred in the horror sequel “American Psycho II: All American Girl” (2002), and played the role of Tina in “Tony and Tina’s Wedding” (2004) opposite Joseph McIntyre. Kunis also appeared in the music videos for Aerosmith’s single “Jaded” and for The Strokes’ single “The End Has No End.” In 2006, Kunis Appeared in the films “After Sex” and “Moving McAllister” opposite Jon Heder and Rutger Hauer and lent her voice-over talents to the Xbox 360 game “Saints Row.” She also continued to received moderate tabloid coverage of her ongoing romance with former child star, Macaulay Culkin.
In December of 2005 she appeared on the cover of the men's magazine Stuff. Kunis has also had roles in the Aerosmith music video "Jaded", The Strokes music video "The End Has No End", as well as several movies, such as Piranha (1995), Santa with Muscles (1996), Krippendorf's Tribe (1998), Gia (1998), Get Over It (2001), American Psycho II: All American Girl (2002), and Tony n' Tina's Wedding (2004). She starred with Jon Heder in the 2007 film Moving McAllister.
Kunis is the voice of Meg Griffin in the animated TV show Family Guy for which she has received a 2007 Annie Award-nomination, and of several characters on the Adult Swim show Robot Chicken. She has acted as the voice of Tanya Winters in the video game Saints Row. She guest starred on Grounded for Life as Brad's ex-girlfriend from space camp. Kunis appeared in the 2008 movie Forgetting Sarah Marshall and will star in Max Payne.
Kunis was ranked #54 in Stuff's "102 Sexiest Women in the World" (2002); Maxim named her #47 on its 2006 Hot 100 list. She has been involved with actor Macaulay Culkin for nearly six years. According to the DVD commentary of the Family Guy movie (during the third part in which Kunis was a commentator), Kunis claims that one of the reasons her boyfriend likes her is because of her role on Family Guy; he is a big fan of the show.
She goes on to say that it was because of Culkin that she actually sat down and watched the show (having never done so before). The couple landed in news headlines in 2006 after their vacation in Israel was interrupted by the 2006 Israeli-Lebanon War and they ended up quickly returning to the U.S. She is heterochromatic, which means her two eyes are different in color. One is blue while the other is hazel (green with a tint of brown). This is a result of injections to treat glaucoma.
