"Young Hollywood is almost not real to me, all the money and glamor. It's fun, but I don't want to be my life. I don't have designer clothes in my closet. I just wear them once and give them back.
Johnny Depp will always be my crush. Besides the fact that he's an amazing actor and has never played the same character twice, he just seems very down to earth." |

Kristin Elizabeth Cavallari (born January 5, 1987) is an American actress and has appeared on United States reality television. She is best known for her feature appearances on the MTV reality TV series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. There are reality TV faces, and then there are reality TV stars. Kristin Cavallari fell into the latter category, after her sizzling breakout role on MTV’s reality teen soap “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” (2004-05). After appearing on the first two seasons of the hit series, Cavallari transformed herself into a Hollywood “It girl,” showing up at star-studded events and award shows. Despite having a limited resume at best, she also became an overnight tabloid sensation, with her dating and social life – particularly her alleged relationship with a newly single Nick Lachey – suddenly becoming a hot topic for weekly celebrity rags and entertainment blog sites.
Kristin Cavallari was born in Denver, Colorado, the younger of two children. When her parents divorced, her older brother moved with their father to Laguna Beach, California, while she moved with their mother to Barrington, Illinois, a suburb northwest of Chicago. After having trouble adjusting to a new life with a stepfather and stepbrother, Cavallari moved to California to be with her dad and brother, and was enrolled at Santa Margarita Catholic High School her freshman year of high school. After attending a Driver's Education course through Laguna Beach High School, her father enrolled her in LBHS.
Cavallari was in her junior year of high school when the first season of Laguna Beach began production. At the time, she was involved in an on-and-off relationship with senior Stephen Colletti. Cavallari's romance with Colletti caused a rivalry with another cast member, Lauren Conrad. The love triangle became one of the series' central plotlines. Cavallari was in her junior year of high school when the first season of “Laguna Beach” taped. At the time, she had a romantic interest in Stephen Coletti, a senior at Laguna Beach High, and a rivalry with senior girl, Lauren Conrad. The love triangle became the show’s central plotline. The second season showed a more mature and confident Cavallari. The bubbly blonde flirted her way into everyone’s hearts on and off the show and seemed poised for reality TV icon status.
After her stint on Laguna Beach, Cavallari headed to L.A. and briefly enrolled at Loyola Marymount University. She then landed a hosting gig on UPN's Get This Party Started. The series drew low ratings and was canceled after only two episodes. Cavallari continued to pursue a career in acting, landing a guest role on Veronica Mars, and a lead role in Teddy Geiger's music video, "For You I Will (Confidence)". She has also starred in the new Gavin Degraw video for the song "I'm In Love With A Girl". Cavallari broke out of her reality star status with news that she was up for the role of Lucy Ewing in a film version of the TV show “Dallas,” set at that time to star John Travolta and Jennifer Lopez. It was also reported that Cavallari had to turn down a role opposite Al Pacino in the movie “88 Minutes” (2007) because of scheduling conflicts with “Get This Party Started.” She finally landed two box office roles in 2007 – the thriller “Fingerprints” and the comedy “Spring Breakdown” – neither of which did much for her career, save provide true acting experience.
In September 2007, Cavallari began shooting the film, The Green Flash. She also has roles in two upcoming films; Fingerprints and Spring Breakdown, both set for release in 2008. In addition to film and tv work, Cavallari has also modeled. She was featured in ads for Bongo jeans, and has appeared in Seventeen, Teen People, Teen Vogue, Rolling Stone, Blender and GQ. In 2006, Maxim named her #23 on its annual Hot 100 List, and was also featured as part of its "Hottest Women of Reality TV" later that year. She was rumored to have dated singer Nick Lachey shortly after his much-publicized divorce from Jessica Simpson – an alleged relationship which truly put her on the non-reality TV map. Ironically, Cavallari was up for the part of Daisy Duke in the 2005 film “The Dukes of Hazzard,” but that role eventually went to Lachey’s former wife, Simpson.
The press made something of a feud between the two blondes, but if indeed it did exist, the rumored fling with Lachey was over before it started and the press moved on to meatier stories – one of which involved Cavallari and her confirmed boyfriend, “The Princes of Malibu” (Fox, 2005) star, Brody Jenner. Everywhere the extremely handsome couple went, shutterbugs followed. After 11 months of dating, however, the pair reportedly split in August of 2006, with Cavallari next rumored to be dating actor Nick Zano from “What I Like About You”.
She has been involved in the "Until There's a Cure" public service advertising campaign to raise awareness and funds for AIDS and HIV research and vaccine development. In 2006, Cavallari appeared in ads for PETA, and has also appeared as a celebrity spokesperson for "We Are Ellis Island", a campaign for the restoration of historic buildings on Ellis Island.
During the filming of Laguna Beach, Cavallari dated fellow cast member Stephen Colletti. After the end of her relationship with Colletti in 2004, Cavallari began dating Brody Jenner, son of Olympic decathlon champion Bruce Jenner. The couple broke up in 2006. Cavallari has also been romantically linked to Nick Lachey, New York Islanders forward Mike Comrie, and Arizona Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart. Cavallari dated actor Nick Zano from 2006 until December of 2007.
