Famous Quote

"I can't wait to be a mom. I think I'm ready. It's weird, though, because I don't think you're ever fully prepared to be a parent, but I'm excited for sure. As for cravings, nothing weird. No pickles and ice cream or anything like that. I've heard of women craving dirt, but none of that for me. I'm pretty normal."

Biography Jodie Sweetin Biography

Jodie Lee Ann Sweetin (born January 19, 1982) is an American actress best known for her role as Stephanie Tanner on the television sitcom Full House. After growing up in America’s living rooms as a member of the Tanner family on the long time ABC hit show, “Full House” (1987-1995), sweet-faced Jodie Sweetin moved from childhood to adolescence, alongside the Oslen twins, Mary Kate and Ashley, and under the tutelage of Uncle Jesse (John Stamos), Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier) and daddy Danny Tanner (Bob Saget).

When the show came to an end, like many child stars at the end of a successful run, Sweetin disappeared into obscurity and ended up battling many of the usual demons – uncertainty over their career, bad marriages and, ultimately, drugs. Unlike many of her peers, however, Sweetin managed to persevere through the adversity and work her way back into the limelight as a healthy young adult.

Jodie Leanne Sweetin was born an only child on Jan. 19, 1982 in Los Angeles, CA, beginning her show business career at only four years old when she appeared in an Oscar Mayer hot dog commercial. A subsequent guest spot on “The Hogan Family” (NBC/CBS, 1986-1991) introduced her to members of the creative team that would soon pitch a show called “Full House.”, After “Full House” wrapped in 1995, Sweetin made the decision to immediately return to a “normal life.” Her first steps included graduating from Los Alamitos High School in 1999, and subsequently receiving an academic scholarship to Chapman University, also in California.

She graduated in 2003 with a degree in elementary school teaching. Although she occasionally appeared on television shows – including an arc on “Party of Five,” (FOX, 1994-2000) and guest spots on “Brotherly Love,” (1995-1997) and “Yes Dear,” (CBS, 2000-2006) – Sweetin continued to focus more on her personal life. Nevertheless, her “Full House” connections remained strong with the cast, who effectively became a second family to one another. Much of the show’s cast was in attendance at her 2002 marriage to police officer Shaun Holguin (the two later filed for divorce), and they would become instrumental in the next stage of her personal growth.

Born in Los Angeles, California, Sweetin first stepped into show business by appearing in an Oscar Mayer hot dog commercial when she was four years old. Her debut role was in The Hogan Family in 1987, in which she played Pamela, the niece of Mrs. Poole. She also provided the voice of Sally Brown in It's Christmastime Again, Charlie Brown. Jeff Franklin cast her as Stephanie Tanner in Full House in 1987, and she was on the show until its end in 1995. After the show's finale, Sweetin went to high school and college. Sweetin hosted the second season of the Fuse TV show Pants-Off Dance-Off. She is now starring in a TV pilot, titled Small Bits of Happiness, a dark comedy centered around a suicide prevention specialist. Although she had previously stated that she did not wish a return to acting full-time, the combination of beating her personal and chemical demons – as well as the positive reaction she received from everyone – changed her mind.

Fuse TV network chose her to host Fuse’s “Pants-Off Dance-Off” (2006- ), a music-centered show where contestants earn cash by stripping to their favorite music. Sweetin also signed on for another Fuse series, “Get Malled” (2006- ). Rumors of a “Full House” reunion had been put forth and refuted for years. However, Sweetin did join “Full House” alums Coulier, Stamos and Saget in providing voice work for the next best thing – “Farce of the Penguins” (2006), a spoof of “March of the Penguins” (2005), written and directed by her second father, Saget.

Sweetin's famous catch phrases on Full House as Stephanie were "How Rude!", and "Well, pin a rose on your nose.". She has stayed in touch with The Olsen twins who played her younger sister Michelle on the show. She "grew up" on Full House and filmed 8 seasons.

She married Shaun Holguin Houston III, a Los Angeles police officer when she was 20 years old. They later divorced. Sweetin married Cody Herpin on July 14, 2007 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She gave birth to a baby girl, Zoie Laurel May Herpin, on April 12, 2008 weighing 8 lbs. 7 oz. and 21 inches. At the age of 20 she also became addicted to methamphetamine and it wasn't until she passed out from cardiac arrhythmia, hypothermia, and irregular breathing that she received the help she needed. In 2006, she spent six weeks at the "Promises" rehabilitation clinic and she was finally able to quit her habit. This also meant the breakdown of her marriage to Shaun Holguin.
