Holly Brisley (born January 11, 1978) in Adelaide, is an Australian model and actress and sex goddess who has appeared on television since she was 15. She is primarily known for her television career in Australian dramas such as All Saints and Home and Away, and her earlier work hosting children’s programs such as Agro's Cartoon Connection and The Looney Tunes Show. She has slowly made the transition into films, with her notable roles being in Scooby-Doo, Garage Days and The Crop. Holly has Coeliac Disease. Holly's acting debut began at the early age of 15 when she landed support roles in two different American television movies filmed at Warner Brothers Studios on the Gold Coast.
She has worked with director Alex Proyas on the movie Garage Days in the role of Scarlet, a red-haired vixen with big ambitions to be a rock star. The variation of her movie credits reflects her versatility, having also starred in American films such as Scooby Doo, Nowhere To Land and her biggest movie role to date, playing Geraldine in the Australian comedy The Crop. Holly will also be seen later in 2006 in Behind The Scenes Of Dynasty, a tele-movie produced by ABC America in which she plays the role of Heather Locklear / Sammy Jo. She has played a myriad of cameo roles in Australian series such as All Saints, Home and Away, Mermaids and BeastMaster.
Extremely experienced in television presenting, Holly has hosted television programs such as The Looney Tunes Show, One World Music, It's Your Go and Agro's Cartoon Connection along with documentaries for BBC World. Holly's latest television appearance in 2004 is on ET's fishing show Escape With ET. Televised on Channel 9, Holly will be doing boating and destination pieces and is really excited to be a part of the action.
Currently Holly is signed to Channel Seven and has appeared on the hit show Dancing With The Stars coming in 3rd on the series! She has now joined Australia's biggest soap Home & Away as Amanda. Holly was ranked 5th (2000) and 29th (2001) in FHM's 'Australia's 100 Sexiest Women'. On 1 June 2005, She received a Film Award for 'Best Actress - Feature Film' at the New York Film & Video Festival for her portrayal of "Geraldine" in the Australian film The Crop. The movie also won 'Best International Feature'.
Brisley's family moved from Adelaide to the Gold Coast while she was still a baby, and as she grew up, she excelled at speech and drama. She joined the Paradise Performer's Dance Academy, where she participated in various classes such as jazz ballet and tap, and also took part in various Eisteddfods, winning many awards. By the age of 13 she was on the books of the Studio Search Agency on the Gold Coast, with her first roles being the Australian telemovies The Flood: Who Will Save Our Children? in 1993 and Official Denial in 1994.
It wasn’t until Holly began her television career in 1995 on the Logie Award winning children’s program, Agro's Cartoon Connection that she began to receive recognition. After guest appearances and hosting gigs, Holly landed the permanent role of town vixen Amanda Vale on soap opera Home and Away, where she remained for two years. In late 2007, Holly returned briefly to Home and Away to reprise her role as Amanda and is now currently voicing a main character for a new cartoon series which will screen on the ABC next year.
Holly became engaged to marketing executive Paul Ford in Venice in 2005 and they married on February 11 2006 in Manly, Sydney. They exchanged vows in the Cardinal Cerretti Memorial Chapel, in the grounds of St Patrick's and overlooking the ocean. This is the same place that Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban were married.
