Famous Quote

"I just find the core emotion of the character, Once you find the core emotion of the character, or anybody, and you know what makes them tick from the inside out, it makes the whole movie easier. It makes it easy to understand. You understand the base human emotion of somebody, and then you're okay."

Biography Cerina Vincent Biography

Cerina Vincent (born February 7, 1979) is an American film actress best known for playing the Yellow Ranger Maya in the television series Power Rangers: Lost Galaxy and a naked foreign exchange student in Not Another Teen Movie. Cerina Vincent never imagined herself becoming the ‘naked girl’ in teen comedies or horror movies. But with her roles in “Not Another Teen Movie” (2001) and “CabinFever” (2003), that was what she became—sort of. The start of her career didn’t indicate that she would play a constantly nude foreign exchange student or a horny teen who ends up shaving the skin off her legs after contracting a flesh-eating virus. But for Cerina, it never mattered. It was all necessary to her becoming what she always wanted to be: an actress.

Vincent was born in Las Vegas, Nevada of Italian descent. In 1996, she won the Miss Nevada Teen USA title and competed at Miss Teen USA. Though she made it to the top 15, she failed to place at the pageant (televised live), which was held in Las Cruces, New Mexico and won by Christie Lee Woods of Texas. Cerina soon found herself performing in a Christmas production at Diskin Elementary School. Ambitious from the start, Cerina learned the lines for all the characters, not just her own, something her parents found both odd and amusing. She then started performing at the Rainbow Company Youth Theater, a program sponsored by Las Vegas’ Cultural Affairs division, where Cerina did some modeling as well as acting. At 16, Cerina won the Miss Nevada Teen USA pageant, an experience that helped reaffirm her pursuit of stardom. Cerina never thought she would win, and though thrilled, she was left a bit jaded by the cutthroat nature of the competition.

Cerina moved to Los Angeles and went to school at Marymount College on scholarship. She squeezed in auditions in between classes, and despite the crammed schedule, Cerina pulled off a perfect 4.0 her first year. Her auditions paid off as much as her studying: she landed several commercials and a role on “USA High” for the USA Network. Cerina quickly followed this with her first film role as the bratty teenager, June, in “Fear Runs Silent” (1999), a thriller starring Billy Dee Williams and Stacy Keach. Cerina tried to continue college, but acting began to consume her life.

She landed her biggest role yet as Maya, the Yellow Ranger on the hit kid’s show, “Power Rangers Lost Galaxy” (1999). Cerina became famous virtually overnight at least amongst the pre-pubescent set. Her role on Power Rangers exposed her to more television roles: she played Kitty on MTV’s “Undressed” (2000), and appeared on episodes of “Son of the Beach” (2000), “Malcolm in the Middle” (2000), “Felicity” (2001) and “Ally McBeal” (2002). She also appeared in the film Not Another Teen Movie (2001) as the foreign exchange student Areola, and spends the entire film nude. The character was a spoof of Shannon Elizabeth's character, Nadia, in American Pie (1999). She admits that being nude in the movie made her feel much more comfortable with her body.

She also starred in a R-rated horror film called Cabin Fever (2003). In 2006, Vincent appeared in the Sci-Fi Channel Original Movie Sasquatch Mountain, alongside Lance Henriksen, and got her first leading role in It Waits. She was also in the recently released Return to House on Haunted Hill which made its debut straight to video.

Cerina is publishing her first book in 2007, which she co-wrote with author Jodi Lipper. It is called How to Eat Like a Hot Chick. She has also written a couple of movie scripts, but by her own admission in a recent interview whether or not they'll see the light of day remains to be seen. While a horror script will have a studio requesting her to play the lead as part and parcel of getting the film made (not always what she intended while writing it), a romantic comedy often has executives wanting bigger names to fill the role.
