Belinda Barbara Chapple (born 15 January 1975) is an Australian singer and former member of female pop group Bardot.
Since Bardot's split, Belinda has been developing two live acts; a more traditional jazz show with Darren Mapes, and her preferred dance and pop performance with choreographer and dancer Michael Boyd. Singles: 2004: "Where it All Began", 2005: "Move Together", She has released two solo singles; the Olympic Games ballad "Where It All Began" in August 2004 and in April 2005 returned with "Move Together", a dance-pop collaboration with UK mix master Solitaire. "Move Together" peaked at #26 on ARIA singles chart. Has a fear of flying. Was on of 5 girls to be chosen as Australia's "popstars" named "BARDOT" (pronounced BAR-DOW). Collects Salvador Dali prints. Was selected to be part of 'Bardot' after competing against over 2000 ambitious girls on national television. Dating Blair McDonough. Loves fashion. Has said that if she wasn't in music she would love to be a fashion designer. Has her own handbag label "bc sacs". Belinda has been working in the entertainment industry since she was 13 years old. Since then she has accomplished many milestones in her career racking up several national and international tours throughout the UK, India, China, New Zealand and all through Asia Pacific, at the front of several stage shows and of course with pop sensation Bardot. Her constant dedication to her chosen art saw her selected as a member of the all-girl pop phenomenon Bardot, which became the first group ever to debut at number one on the Australian charts with both their first single and their first album. Six hit singles, a double platinum and another gold album later, Bardot had garnered a strong reputation throughout the industry for their solid live song and dance performances, playing to packed houses at Rumba, the ARIA's, The Bollywood Awards and more..Bardot's self titled debut album reached double platinum sales in both Australia and New Zealand and Gold in many parts of Asia. The second album 'Play It Like That also reached Gold. The hit singles include, Poison, These Days, I Should Have Never Let You Go, ASAP, I Need Somebody and Love Will Find A Way. Having success both in Australia and overseas Belinda has certainly experienced the industry first hand with tours, music recording, film clips, media, television and all that comes with being Australia's biggest girl group. Some of the events that Belinda has been apart of are The Aria’s, MTV Music Awards ASIA, Channel V, Bardot Australian Tour, Bardot & Human Nature Australian tour, UK's SMTV, Live and Kicking and Pepsi Live, Bollywood Film Awards, RUMBA, Mardi Gra, Television shows and tours in Singapore, Taiwan, Bangkok, Malaysia, India,Japan, Manila, Jakarta, New Zealand, UK and Scotland. Belinda has released two solo singles, an Olympics ballad 'Where it all Began' and has followed this up with 'Move Together' a dance-pop collaborative with UK mix master Solitaire. With further songs currently being developed.. Over the past few years Belinda has been working as a model gracing various magazine covers and catwalks also hitting the corperate & club scene with different live shows including the Silver Spoons,Songs shaken not stirred (jazz with Darren Mapes),pop outfit Boo Boyd,a Tina Turner impersonater show and many more. Belinda's live shows are getting rave reviews throughout the city. She has cultivated her own unique style and the continuing refinement of her already immense talent. Belinda is establishing herself as one of Australia's most prodigious performers. Belinda has recently launched her very own handbag and accessories label bc sacs which will be available in various stores soon. |
