"If there's something in your life that you want to change, change it. Quit complaining. It makes your life miserable; it makes everyone else's life miserable around you. That's the way I live. it makes me a happy person. My mom used to say, "Don't bring your bad mood in the house. Take your bad mood coat off and put it outside the door and come inside. If you want to put it back on when you leave, that's fine." I used to hang my coat a lot." |

Ashley McCall Scott (born July 13, 1977) is an American actress. She is known for her work on television and in film, including her roles in the television series Dark Angel, Birds of Prey, and Jericho. With her beautiful blonde All-American looks, she segued smoothly into acting, getting parts on high profile series like “Birds of Prey” (WB, 2002-03) and “Dark Angel” (Fox, 2000-02), before landing her breakout role as Emily Sullivan on the post-nuclear holocaust drama, “Jericho” (CBS, 2006- ).
Born in Metairie, La., and raised in Charleston, S.C., Scott's first taste of the spotlight was as a child model. By the time she was a teenager, Scott had moved to New York and was modeling internationally, gracing the runways at fashion shows in Miami, Paris and London. Scott was a child model and became so enchanted with that career choice, that by her high school years, she moved to New York City to try her hand at high fashion modeling.
As an international model, she walked the catwalk in fashion shows in Milan and Paris, before changing career lanes, focusing instead on acting as a career. At her first audition, she worked opposite Al Pacino for a part in the feature film, “Simone” (2002) but did not get the gig. After landing the role of Gigolo Jane in Steven Spielberg’s “A.I.: Artificial Intelligence” (2001), she scored the role of Asha Barlow on the edgy sci-fi fantasy series, “Dark Angel.” The writing team was enamored enough by Scott that they fashioned the character to fit her real-life personality, quickly moving her from guest star to regular character status. Because of the large price tag per episode, the James Cameron-produced show was cancelled.
Scott landed on her feet, however, nabbing a role on another sci-fi series, “Birds of Prey,” a comic book spin-off about three female superheroes who join forces to protect New Gotham after Batman mysteriously vanishes. Scott played The Huntress, leader of the crime-fighting trio and daughter to Batman and his secret love, Catwoman, who takes up her father’s mantel to protect the innocent and bring the city’s criminals to justice. The series was cancelled after its first season, leaving the young actress to find work once again.
When she decided to try her luck as an actress, Scott hit the big time right away. At her first audition, she found herself doing a scene with Al Pacino. Although she didn't get the role, Scott was inspired to keep auditioning. Her first big break came with a role in the television series "Dark Angel." Scott played Asha Barlowe, a Robin Hood-type criminal, opposite series star Jessica Alba. She then followed up with an impressive feature film debut in Steven Spielberge's "A.I.: Artificial Intelligence," as Gigolo Jane opposite Jude Law.
Ashley landed her first series regular role on The WB's action-adventure series "Birds of Prey." Scott played Helena Kyle (and her alter-ego, Huntress), the beautiful daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selena Kyle, better known as Batman and Catwoman. The series was canceled due to unknown reasons to this day. The series ran for a total of 13 episodes. Ashley is currently kicking off a career in movie films.
She co-stars in the 2003 version of the action-packed film "S.W.A.T." She has currently finished shooting a horror film titled "Trespassing" and currently filming the remake version of "Walking Tall" with The Rock. This time, she moved easily into the feature world, landing a small role in “S.W.A.T.” (2003), before earning meatier parts in “Walking Tall” (2004) and “Into the Blue” (2005). In 2006, she returned to the small screen in the hit series, “Jericho,” the story of a small town in Kansas struggling to survive and maintain order after much of America has been destroyed in a nuclear war.
Scott played the ex-girlfriend of a one-time do-nothing (Skeet Ulrich) who returns home after a mysterious absence, just in time to see mushroom clouds over Denver. Though slow to start, “Jericho” gained momentum and a loyal audience throughout the fall, earning a full 22-episode order for the season. Scott currently resides in Los Angeles with her two pet Australian tree frogs, Azul and Chunk. When not working, she enjoys horseback riding, cooking and hanging out with her friends.
