Annie Wersching is an American actress who appeared on the American soap opera General Hospital and who will be featured on 24.
Annie Wersching was born and raised in St. Louis, MO where she crawled around as a Jellicle cat in Cats in fourth grade and never looked back. She spent fourteen years with the St. Louis Celtic stepdancers and spent her youth traveling and competing in Irish dance. She then went to Millikin University and received a degree in musical theatre.
She lived in Chicago after school before touring with Anything Goes and A Christmas Carol. She also enjoyed working for such theatres as Victory Gardens, Marriott Lincolnshire, Utah Shakespearean Festival before moving to Los Angeles in 2001. During her youth, she competed in Irish dance and belonged to the St. Louis Celtic Stepdancers. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre, which she received in 1999 from Millikin University.
Annie appeared in the revival of Do I Hear A Waltz? at the Pasadena Playhouse and also can be heard on the new cast recording. Her first television appearance was on Star Trek: Enterprise and since then has appeared in such shows as Journeyman, Boston Legal, Cold Case, Supernatural, Frasier, Charmed, Killer Instinct and more. Annie recently starred in the Fox pilot 'Company Man' by the creators of '24'. This past March Annie debuted on General Hospital as television producer Amelia Joffe. In September Annie began filming for season 7 of 24 where she will play Agent Renee Walker.
Annie began her acting career with a guest appearance on the show Star Trek: Enterprise, and moved on to guest starring roles on such shows as Charmed, Killer Instinct and Supernatural, and on February 15, 2007, began filming the recurring role of Amelia Joffe on the ABC Daytime soap opera General Hospital, with her first airdate being March 8. She has also worked in theaters such as: Victory Gardens, Marriott Lincolnshire, Utah Shakespearean Festival. She moved to Los Angeles, California in 2001.
On September 4, 2007, it was announced that Wersching would be playing Renee Walker, one of the two female leads in Season 7 of 24, a female FBI agent in an "adversarial relationship with Jack Bauer". Wersching left General Hospital in November 2007.
