Famous Quote: “Because I am a bad girl, people always automatically think that I am a bad girl. Or that I carry a dark secret with me or that I’m obsessed with death. The truth is that I am probably the least morbid person one can meet. If I think more about death than some other people, it is probably because I love life more than they do.”

Biography: Sarah Wynter (born February 15, 1973) is an Australian actress, most widely known for her roles on American television – such as Kate Warner on the television drama 24 and as Beth on Windfall. Australian-born actress Sarah Wynter’s resume was far from empty before making her high profile mark on the second season of the hit Fox drama, “24” (2001- ), but her role as Kate Warner opposite Kiefer Sutherland was a career-making performance that set the stage for a bright future in Hollywood.
Wynter’s interest in acting led her to move to New York City when she was seventeen to study drama. Wynter earned her SAG card by landing a role on the Sex and the City pilot, playing what she later summarized as the first woman to have sex on that show. A few years later she was recognized by SAG again, as part of the cast of 24 when it earned a SAG Award nomination as Best Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.
Soon after her arrival in the United States, she landed the first of several big screen but small time parts in such forgettable flicks as the Campbell Scott/Jennifer Beals film “Let It Be Me” (1995) and “Species II.” By and large, Wynter’s best work would appear on the small screen, as of her other movies, only “The 6th Day” (2000), an Arnold Schwarzenegger action flick where Wynter played an assassin, received any significant notice or box office results. Wynter also appeared in The 6th Day and Lost Souls, and had a recurring role in The Dead Zone. her Australian feature film debut, Three Dollars, was released in 2005. She has recently been cast as Daisy Adair in the new, straight-to-DVD movie version of Showtime TV series Dead Like Me.
Wynter has appeared on a 2003 issue of Maxim Magazine. She was ranked #81 in Stuff (2002 edition) magazine’s “102 Sexiest Women In The World.” After numerous TV guest roles and small parts in forgettable flicks, in 2002, she landed the role of Kate Warner, older sister of Marie (Laura Harris) on “24.” The season was set on the same day as Marie’s wedding day, and unveiled details of the Warner family’s connections to terrorist organizations. Ultimately, her character became the love interest of Kiefer Sutherland’s Jack Bauer. Between interacting with the Warner family, Bauer, and the terrorists, Wynter had ample opportunities to showcase her impressive range, in addition to her icy beauty. Aside from a 2004-05 six-episode arc as Rebecca Caldwell on “Stephen King’s The Dead Zone” (USA Network, 2002- ) her next projects were mainly small films – most notably “Three Dollars” (2005) – her first Australian film since she had left for the U.S. After a brief return to the “24” universe as a voice over artist for the video game “24: The Game” (2006), Wynter returned to television in full force, appearing as one of the large cast of NBC’s “Windfall” (2006- ).
Wynter was born in Newcastle, New South Wales, the daughter of Helen Williams, a worker in the Australian federal judicial system, and Stuart Wynter, a physician. Her grandmother, the late Joy Cummings, was the Lord Mayor of Newcastle – Australia’s first female Lord Mayor. On August 20, 2005 Wynter married Details magazine editor-in-chief Dan Peres in Sydney. Wynter is pregnant with their first child, due in January 2008. A son, Oscar Dallas Wynter Peres, was born on January 14.
She underwent LASIK surgery in New York City, calling it “one of the best things I have ever done in my life.” Wynter commented on the 2004 U.S. presidential election in an interview in Australia held soon after the results were announced: “I think we are on a fast track to hell with the current administration. Bush is a religious fanatic.”
