Her father Michaël Palmstierna Hamilton (born in 1955 to Swedish parents count and World War II Waffen-SS volunteer Ulph Hamilton and baroness Margaretha Palmstierna) won the right to bear the Hamilton name, and was recognized as a member of the Swedish nobility in 1999. Ulph Hamilton was born in 1920 to Swedish count and Wehrmacht volunteer James Douglas Hamilton and Copenhagen socialite Erna Hamilton (née Simonsen).
