Biography:  Chandra North (born July 31, 1973 in Dallas, Texas, USA) is an American supermodel. Chandra has appeared in more than one SI Swimsuit Edition, which is an impressive accomplishment, given the high standards demanded by the magazine. When SI asks you back, you have got it made in the shade. With each additional appearance, Chandra has been granted more and more exposure.

A dark haired, blue eyed fashion model who found prominence in the early 1990s, she has featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue on multiple occasions and can still be seen in advertising and magazine editorials to this day. 

In 1995, she modeled the lines of Isaac Mizrahi and Richard Tyler for shows in Paris and Milan. A year later Chandra scored a coup when she was featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition. The shot of her donning a bikini made of grass, made waves among readers and fashion aficionados alike. She has since appeared in the magazine five times. Chandra has also graced the cover of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, W, and Allure. In the future, her hope is to own a Texas ranch complete with animals and many children. 

Met her husband in New York where he was employed as a bicycle messenger. Had a son, Hayden, in August 2000. Friends with fellow model Carolyn Murphy. Her name means “Moon” in Hindi. Her mother, Rives, is a former Neiman Marcus sales associate who divorced from Chandra’s father when Chandra was a toddler. Took ballet lessons from age six to age fifteen. She currently resides in upstate New York with her husband, Daniel, and young son Hayden. She is represented by Storm Models.
