Famous Quote: “I grew up doing all that stuff because I was obsessed with the ’50s. I had sock hops for birthday parties. So I’ve always done The Twist and stuff. It was pretty natural and, with my parents doing it all the time, I’d just copy them. Not very pretty. I’m pretty good in real life, but sometimes people seem surprised that I’m like a normal teenager and wear black nail polish and I’m just a little bit more edgy than the person I play on television.”

Biography: Brittany Marie Snow (born March 9, 1986) is an American television and film actress most known for The Pacifier, John Tucker Must Die, Hairspray and Prom Night. Former child actress Brittany Snow got her start in daytime soaps but she eventually made a name for herself playing spunky 1960s teens in the nostalgic TV series “American Dreams” (ABC, 2002-05) and the blockbuster musical, “Hairspray” (2007). Her hilarious turn playing snooty, bubble-haired Amber von Tussle in the Broadway adaptation of the latter landed her a rapid succession of big screen roles. Over the following year, she was slated to appear alongside Matthew Broderick in the comedy “About Amanda” (2008) and revive the role made famous by Jamie Lee Curtis in the horror classic, “Prom Night” (2008).

Snow was born and grew up in Tampa Bay, Florida, the daughter of Cynthia, who works for Prentice Hall, and John Snow, Sr., who ran an insurance agency and retired to organize Snow’s schedule. She is also close friends with costars Sophia Bush, Amanda Bynes, Ashley Tisdale, Zac Efron and Arielle Kebbel as well as High School Musical’s Vanessa Hudgens. She attened Carrollwood Day School in Tampa, Florida for her early education (kindergarten through second grade). For middle school she attended Ben Hill and is a 2004 graduate of Gaither High School in Tampa, Florida. She enjoys spending time with old friends and family and often visits her hometown of Tampa, Fl.

Snow began modeling at the age of three and a half in a print ad for Burdines. She had a popular role at age twelve as troubled teen Susan LeMay on the soap opera Guiding Light from 1998 to 2001. She is perhaps best known for playing Meg Pryor on NBC’s American Dreams and Ariel, a neo-Nazi high school student on the third season of Nip/Tuck. Snow landed a regular role on the long-running soap opera, playing Susan Lemay, the long-lost daughter of Harley Davidson Cooper Spaulding (Beth Ehlers).

The typically sweet and cheerful Snow got the chance to play a manipulative little brat who shoplifted, ran away from home and tried to overdose on cough syrup for attention. Snow’s real life parents, however, insisted she try to maintain as normal a teenage life as possible, so she remained at Ben Hill Middle School in Tampa and flew to New York City to film her scenes three days a week. The exposure she received from playing the vindictive tyke on “Guiding Light” earned her a starring role in “American Dreams,” a period drama set in the 1960s and seen through the eyes of Snow’s character, Meg, a 15-year-old who dreams of being on “American Bandstand.” In trying to shed her good girl image, Meg danced her way through the turbulence of the 1960’s while dealing with the typical hang-ups of a teen from any decade. The show brought to an end Snow’s “normal teen” life when she and her mother transplanted to L.A. where they got an apartment.

In 2005, Snow appeared in The Pacifier with action star Vin Diesel. In 2006, Snow was in the film John Tucker Must Die and voiced Naminé in the video game Kingdom Hearts II as well as Shizuku Tsukishima in the Studio Ghibli film, “Whisper of the Heart.” Her new headquarters opened up new opportunities. In 2005, Snow landed a recurring guest spot playing a teenage neo-Nazi on “Nip/Tuck” (FX, 2003- ) and was also cast in her first feature, “The Pacifier,” starring a neutered Vin Diesel as a Navy SEAL who tries to redeem himself by taking care of the children of a scientist whom he failed to protect. Snow played a rebellious teen who gave Diesel more trouble than the bad guys out to kill him. In 2006, Snow’s film career got a big boost with a starring role in the teen comedy “John Tucker Must Die,” playing a mousy high school student recruited to help give the school Casanova his comeuppance.

Snow more recently appeared in Hairspray, a film adaptation of the Broadway musical, playing the bratty Corny Collins show queen Amber Von Tussle alongside James Marsden, Nikki Blonsky, Amanda Bynes, and Zac Efron. “Tucker” was a moderate hit, but it was nothing compared to her follow-up, “Hairspray” (2007). In this adaptation of the Broadway musical – which, oddly, was an adaptation of a film – Snow played Amber von Tussle, the stuck-up archenemy of up-and-coming dancer Tracy Turnblad, who will stop at nothing to secure her role in a popular TV dance party. “Hairspray” was one of the biggest hits of 2007 in addition to becoming the third largest grossing musical of all time. With her role in Hairspray, Snow shows her musical side in numerous numbers including a solo entitled, “The New Girl In Town”, a song previously cut from the Broadway musical version. Snow played the lead role in Prom Night, which was released in April 2008.

She is currently single and her previous relationships include Michael Johnson (drummer) & Kyle Searles. In an interview for the October 2007 issue of People magazine, Snow revealed her nine year battle with anorexia, bulimia & depression. However with the help of mental health professionals and the support of her family and friends, she has begun to recover.Snow is a Roman Catholic.
